White Scones

There’s nothing in this recipe from our garden but at this time of year its such a treat to have freshly baked scones……



450g Plain Flour

1tsp sugar

1tsp salt

1tsp bread soda

350ml Buttermilk

Handful of raisins



  1. Preheat oven to 230°C.
  2. Sieve dry ingredients (except raisins), make a well in the centre. Pour most of the buttermilk into the well and mix.
  3. When the dough has come together mix in the raisins and turn out onto a floured surface and kneed for a few seconds.
  4. Cut into scones and put onto baking tin.
  5. Pop into the oven for 15mins, turn down to 200°C and bake for another 30mins.
